This 53-year-old woman came to Dr. Poulter to discuss body contouring after losing 100 pounds from gastric bypass surgery. Complications after her gastric bypass resulted in a widened unsightly scar on her upper abdomen. Although she was confident with her new weight, she was still self-conscious about the excess skin of her abdomen and arms.

During the consultation with Dr. Poulter they reviewed her medical history and discussed her goals. Body contouring after massive weight loss involves many different steps for each patient, and depending on the patient’s body type may be performed in combination or separately.

This patient underwent two separate operations to reach her body contouring goals. The first surgery removed just under a pound of skin and fat from each arm. The patient was extremely pleased with her results.

Six months later the patient returned for removal excess abdominal skin, revision of the upper abdominal scar, and tightening of the abdominal muscles. Dr. Poulter removed a total of 6.5 pounds of skin and fat from her abdomen. The patient is ecstatic with her new body contour!
