This 43 year old mother of 3 came to us after her yearly mammogram discovered right breast cancer. With her mother being a 10 year breast cancer survivor, she had decided long before that if she were ever to develop breast cancer that she would proceed with a bilateral mastectomy and after meeting with Dr. Poulter and his staff she was sure that she had made the right choice. After her bilateral mastectomy and placement of tissue expanders, we were able to bring her to a size she felt most comfortable at followed by placement of a silicone high profile implant for her second stage of reconstruction. Following her surgery, we finished the reconstruction process with nipple tattooing. After her breasts had healed, the patient voiced concerns of the appearance of her left chest scar following the removal of her port for chemotherapy. Through liposuction of the hips, we were able to fat graft the scar area improving its overall appearance.
