This 50-year-old woman consulted with Dr. Poulter after a diagnosis of breast cancer. After discussing her options for reconstruction extensively, Dr. Poulter recommended reconstruction via implant expander technique. She was very pleased with the size of her native breast and wished to match it in size and shape as closely as possible. She had immediate reconstruction at the time of her mastectomy and was able to be fully expanded in the operating room by using alloderm. Three months later she returned for placement of a permanent 203cc gel implant, nipple reconstruction, and tattoo. She elected not to enhance her size (which would have been covered by her insurance) and is very pleased with her final outcome.
