This 39-year-old woman came to Dr. Poulter after being diagnosed with breast cancer. After discussing her options for reconstruction extensively, she elected to proceed with implant expander type reconstruction. She returned for weekly expansion until reaching her desired size. She waited two years to be the first of Dr. Poulter’s breast reconstruction patients allowed to receive silicone gel implants on an FDA approved research protocol with McGhan. Her saline expanders were then removed and 500cc silicone gel implants were placed. To complete her reconstruction, nipple reconstruction and tattoo were also carried out.
